I’m pleased to announce my first property sale of 2011 – 26 Willow Lane in Sausalito! I represented the buyers who closed last week on this three bedroom, two and a half bathroom centrally located townhouse. This great unit is two stories and features a living room with fireplace, open kitchen/family room, dining room, private back patio & two car parking. The location couldn’t get any better: there is a grocery store& post office right across the street and easy access to public transportation and Hwy 101.
Originally listed at $650,000 and then reduced down to $604,000 I was able to negotiate a purchase price of $585,000, which is an excellent deal for this large townhouse! This is one of the lowest-priced closed sales for a 3 bedroom property in Sausalito during the past six months& my buyer clients are very pleased.
This was a fun deal for two reasons: first, because both the seller and the buyer are in the marine transportation field – they had gone to competing maritime academies and even had common acquaintances. My clients felt comfortable in the property the very first time we viewed it as it was full of nautical reference books, maps, and ship memorabilia ~ so it seemed like it was meant to be theirs.
And second, these buyers found me online all the way from Gibraltar! We began an email correspondence about the available Sausalito property listings and we able to narrow down potential properties to view. They came to town, I picked them up at the ferry, we toured everything and they loved 26 Willow. That night, I went to their hotel in San Francisco so we could write up an offer and the rest is history. The very best part of this fun story is that I now have some great new neighbors and friends just down the street from me here in Sausalito.
